Blueberry Picking

We took Owen blueberry picking this morning. He was in heaven! As Steve said "the only thing that would be better is if you could pick watermelon & eat it". It didn't take Owen long to learn how to pick the berries of the bushes & pop into his mouth.

Playing in the Cabinets

Owen's new favorite game is to empty out the cabinets, climb in & shut the door.

Owen's First Camping Trip

Owen took his first camping trip, in Lake George, this weekend. W/ the exception of the "A & W Incident", he did really well. He liked playing & sleeping in the tent, eating outside & helping build his first campfire. He was an expert twig gatherer! We spent a lot of time at the beach & walking around downtown Lake George. We can't wait to go back next year!

A Nice Day

This morning Owen had an upper GI & everything checked out a-ok structurally. That is great news! He was such a tropper drinking the barium & being rolled all around the table.

Then we met our friends Sarah & Jude for a walk at the park, playing on the playground, visiting the animals, ice cream for lunch (for the mommies) & fresh veggies from the farmstand. It was a fun afternoon!

Thanks for the pics Sarah!

Helping Daddy

Owen was so excited to help daddy use the drill to do some sanding of the shoe molding for the new floors. The floors are coming along, very slowly but surely. With Owen's help, hopefully they won't take too much longer!

Old Homes Day

We went to Old Homes Day today w/ Auntie Debbie, Jonathan & Christopher. Everyone enjoyed the parade, the giveaways & the fun games. Owen's favorites were the Beanies for Bagdad game & the FREE watermelon (I think he ate half a watermelon!).

Daddy's Shoes

Owen LOVES shoes! Playing with them, handing them to people, putting them on, helping people put theirs on. This morning he decided that daddy's work shoes were the perfect accessory to his Mickey jammies.

P.S--Check out our new wood floors in these pics :-)

No Lyme Disease!

The Dr called this morning to let us know that the 2nd lyme test came back negative! At this point, it catches 90% of cases, so unless he develops new or worsening symptoms we are in the clear. Yay! It has been a stressful few weeks worrying about it, especially when he developed the fever & fatigue last week.

New Floors

Grandpa came back from NY w/ us & spent 3 long days installing new hardwood floors for us. Unfortunately, they are still a work in progress (& the house is still a disaster) but Owen loves helping out!

Fitz Fest 2008

Last weekend was Fitz Fest 2008 (my family reunion) at Alex Bay NY, in the Thousand Islands. It was great to see & visit with everyone who was able to make it. Owen and Nikola were so cute together, they are almost the exact same size. Katie did a great job playing with & watching out for the babies, I can't believe she is so grown-up!

Sunday morning daddy & Owen took a trip into town to see the sights, the castle & play some chess. Monday we took an Uncle Sam boat tour & went to see Boldt Castle.

TGIF!

It has been a long, stressful week. Owen has a spot on his ankle that is a classic bullseye, indicative of Lyme disease. The Dr did a blood test Tuesday night (always fun w/ Owen!). This morning we learned that the test was negative, but false negatives at this point are very common. If he develops anymore symptoms or the bullseye gets any bigger he will be tested again. Otherwise, they will repeat the test in 6 weeks to make sure that he doesn't have Lyme. He is having a hard time w/ reflux lately & the GI increased his Axid dose again (just increased last week). Hopefully it will start working soon!

We have been busy packing up the kitchen & living room to prepare for our new hardwood floors installed.

Tomorrow morning we leave for New York & Fitz Fest! We can't wait to see everyone.
